Let me start by saying this review is going to be extremely censored, despite containing some minor spoilers such as names and point of view. I am doing this because my sister (hi!!) reads this blog and we also "car pool" books. Meaning, I have read this book and she has not! I do not want to spoil this book for her but I don't want to shoo one of the only viewers I have from my blog, either.

With that being said: let's dive in a little. Regretting you introduces us to 4 friends: Jenny, Chris, Morgan and Jonah. At the beginning of the book Chris and Morgan are dating, as well as Jenny (who happens to be Morgan's younger sister) and Jonah. By the end of the first chapter we get a rather sizable, but probably predictable, twist. Near pages 70-80 (I won't spoil that much either) we get a much more sizable twist! Unpredictable to me this time. Then the book follows the fall out, the major realization following this twist and how this Mother / Daughter duo handles it.

While I loved this book for what it was, a dual romance, and while I read it quickly, just a few days, I did have a few issues with this book. However, it wasn't the book, per say. I know, I know...confusing. Let me explain! I am used to a certain way with Colleen Hoover. She hooks us, gives us time to love these characters and THEN shatters our hearts! This time, it was a little different. While we had a chance to certainly start liking the characters, we had no time to love them in their entirety. Then the twist and shatter came so early, followed by the fallout. It was like I had read a miniature novel with two mini romances branched off. While I wasn't necessarily mad it DID throw me for a loop and made finishing the book a slightly slow process.

However, that aside: Colleen offered up another outstanding novel written to perfection. There was humor, romance, tragedy and some gut wrenching moments that I felt were beautifully captured the best way they could be by someone whose never been in those shoes.
